Meet Sarahi Almanza
An 8 year old who was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Osteosarcoma which has required rigorous and aggressive treatment, incurring many hardships upon Sarahi and her family. Choking up as I write this, I want to share with you who Sarahi is. I met her about a year and half ago when I started managing an apartment complex where she lives in Hobbs, NM. Sarahi came into my office with other kids to welcome me to their community. Shortly after, she asked me if she could go to church with me one day. Of course I say yes and she went with me. One day when she got out of school, she left a letter on my desk that she had written. It simply said " You are a gift from God, thank you for taking me to church. I love you." My eyes filled with tears because she was actually my gift. She had no idea how much I needed that letter that day. I was having a bad day. She continued to take part in our children's ministry until she fell ill. She fell outside one day and they just thought maybe she had a small fracture in her knee. It turned out she had Osteosarcoma. Sarahi has a heart of gold. She has always been positive and loves life to fullest, even while she is battling for her life. Soon she will be traveling to Dallas in hopes of saving her life by having surgery on her leg to keep the cancer from spreading. Only God knows the outcome of her situation but as a loving community we first pray, then give in order to help absorb some of the costs associated with her care. In order to minimize the worry and anguish this family is feeling in this time of dire need, we are taking donations. Any amount helps.
