Help Save Reggie - Rescue Pug Puppy

Donation protected
Reggie came into rescue with his brother at just a day old. He was unable to feed off mum due to a complete cleft palate. He had a misshapen head and we were worried that he could possibly have fluid on the brain but had no symptoms while he was tiny so we were confident that it was just his skull shape. Poor reggie hasn't had it easy and he has had to be hand reared and tube fed hourly through the day and night by his wonderful Foster mum. He's had several chest infections that has required antibiotics in his short life but he keeps beating them. Reggie started weaning and is unable to eat properly yet so the food has to be pushed to the back of his throat, he can't eat soft food as it will get stuck in the cleft. All was going well and he was enjoying his food and taking it nicely. He then started having episodes where he would become really lethargic and wouldn't want to eat or play, he wouldn't want to do anything but sleep. It was discovered that he had a 1/6 grade heart murmor too. Reggie went in for an xray as an investigation procedure to see if we could find a cause of his problems other than the cleft, and the xray shows that he potentially had hiatal hernia which is essentially where the abdominal organs spill into the chest . This is a specialist case and our vets are not able to care for him any more. We have 2 choices. We either put reggie to sleep now and don't give him a chance, or we pay £1000s for a specialist vet to help him and do further investigations and operations. We simply can not end his life without doing absolutely everything that we can to save him and help him like a happy and healthy life. This boy is a fighter and has defied all odds despite his survival chance being very low from the day he was born. He loves life and we will keep fighting with him as long as he keeps telling us that he has the will to live. He is very much loved by us all, he's so cheeky and mischievous and loves to play with her brother Ronnie who is almost identical. As a rescue (breeds in need) we rely soly on public donations and get no funding at all from other sources. We CAN NOT help him without your help. We need to raise the money for a specialist vet to give his beauty a chance.

We have had a quote from the specialist vets that investigations will be £2000+ not including treatment needed after and his cleft palate repair will be £3000.  After lots of time and phone called The Animal Trust vets in Bolton are doing the investigations for £800. Quite a drive but worth it. Just because this not found himself in rescue it shouldn't mean that he doesn't get a chance when he's fighting so hard to keep going and is enjoying life.

Please please donate to his care and share our plea to everyone you can. He needs you
