Update:  With great regret, we wanted to let you know that Ran Grumer passed away today peacefully.  We wanted to thank all of you for the amazing help and support that you have given us.  For the past 5 months, Ran courageously fought cancer with all of his strength and hoped to see his children grow up despite statistics that we were fully aware of.  At the hospital, I let Ran know everyday of the tremendous support and love that we received from everyone around us and it provided us with so much strength.  Please continue to support us and to be there by our side, especially in these difficult times.

As if dealing with a global pandemic wasn't enough, imagine losing your job and then getting diagnosed with Stage 4 Renal Cancer.  Meet Ran Grumer and the Grumer family, let's help them fight this together!

Up until 5 months ago, we were a normal family trying to get used to the new norm during the global pandemic.  Ran, the love of my life, lost his job due to the pandemic, my job was reduced to part time, but we were sure that everything was temporary and that it would pass.  In the beginning of August 2020, Ran started to feel ill and we were sure that it was COVID-19 because he had chest pains.One medical assessment after another, and a few days later we were hit with "Stage 4 Metastatic Renal Cancer". It felt like we were hit by a bus and the cancer spread quickly throughout Ran's body rapidly declining his health. We tried to always stay optimistic, even though we knew the odds were against us. Now that we have been through a few different treatments, we understand that this is a very aggressive form of cancer, one that has stumped even the physicians.   


My partner, my better half, my best friend is fighting the fight of his life with every breath.  From a man that ran 4 miles a day, he has become completely dependent on me and uses a walker barely to get around the house.


Along with our three amazing young children, we continue to fight with every last drop of strength we have, but now we need your help for medical treatments and to keep us going!

עד לפני חמישה חודשים היינו משפחה רגילה, שמנסה להסתגל לשגרה החדשה בצל הקורונה.
רן פוטר מיד עם תחילת המגיפה, ואני הורדתי לחצי משרה, אבל היינו בטוחים שהכל זמני וזה יחלוף.
בתחילת אוגוסט רן לא חש בטוב, והיינו בטוחים שמדובר בקורונה כיוון שהיו לו כאבים בחזה.
בדיקה הובילה לבדיקה וכעבור כמה ימים התבשרנו שרן חולה בסרטן כליה גרורתי שלב 4.
הגרורות הגיעו במהירות לכל מקום בגוף, ומכאן חלה התדרדרות מאוד מהירה במצבו.
ניסינו לשמור על אופטימיות לכל אורך הדרך, למרות שידענו שהסטטיסטיקה נגדנו.
עכשיו, כשעברנו כמה סוגי טיפולים, אנחנו מבינים שמדובר בסרטן אגרסיבי במיוחד שהשאיר גם את הרופאים המומים.
בן הזוג שלי, החצי הטוב יותר שלי, החבר הכי טוב שלי, נלחם על כל נשימה. מאדם שרץ 4 מייל ביום הפך לסיעודי שבקושי מתהלך בבית עם ההליכון.
