Hi, my name is Gabriella and I’m fundraising for our sweet dog Rain. She recently suffered a medical emergency — a ruptured tumor in her stomach that caused her to go septic. Right now, she needs emergency surgery to save her life.

Rain is not just a pet, she’s family. She has brought us so much unconditional love, joy, and comfort, and it breaks my heart to see her in so much pain. She has her brothers and sister who love her dearly. Her birthday is tomorrow, and instead of celebrating with treats and love, we are fighting to keep her here with us. The vets explained that without immediate surgery, she won’t make it. With treatment, she has a fighting chance to recover and come back home where she belongs.

The cost of her emergency surgery, hospitalization, and care is overwhelming, and I can’t do it alone. I’m asking for help from friends, family, and kind strangers who believe that every dog deserves the chance to live.

Rain’s Surgery & Recovery Update

We made the decision to move forward with Rain’s surgery based on love rather than money — and we are endlessly grateful to the incredible surgeon who saved our Rainy.

During surgery, they discovered a mass the size of an orange that had ruptured and caused a septic abdomen. The mass, along with part of her intestine, had to be removed. Because the procedure was extremely invasive, Rain’s recovery has required very close monitoring and extra care.

She is still in the hospital, and although she lights up and gets excited for our visits, she hasn’t been eating as much as the doctors would like. This has led to some complications with low protein levels and swelling in her legs, so her care team has been trying different approaches to support her healing.

We know our Rainy girl is strong, sweet, silly, and resilient — and we are holding onto faith that she will soon be back to her happy, healthy self. For now, we’re focused on making sure she receives everything she needs to recover fully and come home safely.
