Help SAVE Porshia

Help SAVE Porshia – an adorable Australian Labradoodle that’s an EXTRAordinary  certified Therapy Dog (& local celebrity!) at a cancer center and hospital with an unfortunate mystery medical condition.
Most of you don’t know that I can write because I prefer to spend most of my time comforting those who are sick… very sick.  It is my absolute joy to sit with, cuddle up to, and give a little kiss on the nose to those who need a little comfort in their darkest days.  But now, I'm the one who is sick and have been since December 2015.  I haven’t wanted to burden my patients, family members, or caregivers… because I know how much you need me.

What most don’t know - my pawrents have paid to run every test possible (sometimes more than once to rule out potential errors) over the last several months and my vet is highly recommending I go to a Cardiologist at Ohio State University (there are no local Cardiologists in our area) for specialized testing.  I have even gone to a holistic vet for alternative treatments in hopes I wouldn't have to go to OSU.  But, after several treatments, she concurs with my conventional vet - I need to see a specialist.  Unfortunately, this is an expense my PAWrents don’t have reserves to pay for because you see, my mommy has had cancer twice and still has medical bills herself.  I can’t even help out because even though I work every day with my mom (and have NEVER called in sick), I don’t have a social security number so I don’t get paid.   And to make matters worse - my mom’s job was recently abolished due to budget cuts.

I would appreciate any donation because this trip to OSU is my last chance to get better and to continue to serve you.  I always try to spread PAWSitivity, but I’m just not feeling well.  I would like to see a cardiologist while we are out of work so Mom doesn’t miss work and I don’t miss fulfilling my passion.  Please boost me up with your prayers, donations and well wishes.  We always close our visits by saying, “Be Kind to Yourself & to One Another.”   I WOOF you all in a very special way!!

TESTIMONIES:
~ I've seen Porshia bring a smile to a sick, exhausted patient and coax her out of bed while in the ICU.

~ I'

ve reaped the benefit of stroking her ears and getting a lick when my mom is getting her treatment.  My Mom has been distracted as her port is accessed by Porshia.

~ I am going to take a moment of your time. I know times are tough, and money is tight, but if you had the opportunity to support an amazing cause, this is the one for you. Porshia and Jane Ann Zeigler lost their job recently, and unfortunately it came at a time when Porshia is in great need. She has some heart issues, and in order to get help they have to see a cardiologist at OSU. Being a pup, she has no health insurance and no steady income. Porshia and Jane Ann have been amazing patient advocates for those in need, including my family.
They personally helped my wife, when she had cancer and navigated the unknown. They were there at my wife's funeral; Jane Ann had to pick Porshia up to see Tammi Ward because she whined to be close to her. After that moment, I will never question the capacity an animal has to love and feel. After my wife passed, the ladies continue to make sure that I am ok.
Even today, after losing their job, she still found time to visit a few patients that requested to see them and me (she came to the hospital she formerly worked at and I'm a RN there)! The compassion these two share for people are amazing.  All I ask is that you donate whatever you can, so Porshia can get the help she needs and Jane Ann can keep taking care of people with her amazing partner in crime.
If you can't donate, please share this post with everyone you know. Make this go viral!!!! Let's help these girls, who have given their all to help our families. Thank you!

~ She renews my spirit! Care giving is a hard job and sometimes a few moments of distraction and a paw shake can rejuvenate nurses, doctors, and transport staff.

~ She comforts patients on their worst days and celebrates on their good days. She motivates very sick patients to get out of bed, sit in a chair, and smile…. things they might not have done in days.

~ She comforts worried families, distracts patients from their IV starts, and has makes the unbearable… easier to bear.

~ Porshia has touched my life and so many others! She’s more than worthy of your help.  PLEASE donate to get her well!
