Help Save Pleasant Valley in the Town of Onondaga

The  Pleasant Valley property is a beautiful 203 acre parcel on the south west side of Onondaga County, New York.  Central New York Land Trust is currently in the process of acquiring this property and preserving it for public use.  This special area includes diverse ecosystems which provide land and aquatic  habitats for wildlife as well as recreational opportunities for people. Found on the property are  an upland forest, cedar/mixed woodland, swamp, open wetland, open field, creek, pond and two vernal pools.  Conservation of this property will help maintain important agricultural lands and landscape features.  Current and future recreational opportunities include  hiking, cross-country skiing, photography, bird watching, fishing, field study, and snow shoeing.

We are currently in Phase I of our campaign - acquisition of the land.  Gifts up to $150,000 will be matched $1/$1, so that we can make the $300,000 purchase price.  Your gift today to the PLEASANT VALLEY CAMPAIGN will assist in the acquisition of the property.  Phase II of the campaign will be to raise funds to create a future meeting spot (parking), installation of  an educational kiosk, addition of  trail markings,  and the establishment of a stewardship endowment for preserve care.
