Help save our SEED Resource Room

Tax deductible
SEED's Mission is to create a facility that provides those effected by eating disorders, both sufferers and carers alike with confidential independent and non judgemental advice and support to ensure they are aided by the best possible network of care and support to facilitate recovery. We are a group of ordinary people doing extraordinary things and are a charity based on lived experience, set up in 2000 by co-founders Marg and Dennis Oaten as they fought to save their daughter, Gemma's, life.

We at SEED found out three weeks ago that our CHCP (City Health Care Partnership, commissioned via the NHS, through CCG's) contract wasn't to be renewed as of March 31st, meaning we not only lose 25k a year in funding but also lose our beloved resource room which was part of the contract if we cant find the 35k annual rent by March 31st. We are heartbroken. Especially Marg, Dennis and Gemma. 10 years of this partnership and all of a sudden, nothing. No forewarning, no right to reply. Just gone.

As the world starts opening up again we had plans to use this vital room for our Recovery after the Recovery programme, enabling young adults to enter into a 6 month programme to facilitate recovery and inspire them to thrive and not just survive. We also had plans in place to work with Space 2B Heard who would be helping us provide FREE one to one therapy to any one who needed it. Our resource room was to be used to facilitate this.

With the rising number of eating disorder sufferers in the UK an the waiting times at a record high for many to receive the help they deserve has left us bewildered, but we are determined to fight.

Please if you can help us save our Resource Room. Whether we are able to stay at Wilberforce health Centre or we raise the funds to find somewhere else, we need your help. Not only to keep our safe space for all who need it but also recoup the 25k we have lost alongside it.

SEED pride themselves on being the only voluntary sector eating disorder charity in Hull, but also deliver support UK wide. We help save lives. Please help us keep fighting for those who desperately need us.

Thank you always,
