Our temple has been a place of worship, service, and community for many years - supporting families, feeding those in need, and offering hope to all who walk through its doors. Today, rising costs and urgent repairs have placed its future at risk. Without support, we may not be able to keep our doors open in the coming year. This is a collective effort to protect and sustain our temple for generations to come. Every contribution helps preserve a space that serves so many.

For many years, our Hindu temple has been a cornerstone of the community - a place of worship, comfort, and connection for people of all ages, backgrounds, and faiths. Rooted in the universal values of love, peace, duty, truth, and unity, it has become a sacred space where people come not only to pray, but to belong.

But our temple is more than just a building.

It is the heart of a living tradition of selfless service - known in our tradition as seva - where we come together to support one another and uplift those in need.

Through this spirit of service, we have:

• Served meals to those facing hardship

• Distributed food, essential household, clothing, and school hampers

• Organized outreach programs for vulnerable communities

• Helped build homes, water tanks, orphanages and learning centres in impoverished communities

• Provided a safe, welcoming space for those who feel unseen or unsupported

We have supported women in shelters, youth without homes, and individuals who have endured profound hardship, including victims of violence and displacement, and indigenous communities. In moments when people had nowhere else to turn, our temple has been a place of dignity, compassion, and hope.

This is not just what we do - it is who we are.

Today, we are facing our greatest challenge.

Rising maintenance fees - increasing by over 300% - along with urgent repairs and unexpected costs, have placed our temple at serious risk.

Without immediate support, we may not be able to keep our doors open within the next 12 months.

We are currently facing:

• Mandatory roof repairs: ~ $50,000

• HVAC replacement: ~ $20,000

• Sudden 300+% increase in building maintenance fees: ~ $40,000-60,000 annually over the next 2-3 years

• Essential repairs and renovations to maintain a safe and functional space for our seniors and food bank programs

• Basic audio and sound improvement to continue services and community programming

These are not upgrades for growth - they are necessary to survive.

We have seen firsthand how a single meal, a kind word, or a moment of connection at the temple can change someone’s day - and sometimes, a person's life.

For many, this is more than a place of worship.

It is a source of hope.

A place of belonging.

A beacon of light in difficult times.

An abode of peace in a chaotic world.
