<div>Our small family farm includes a breathtaking historic hay barn that was built in the 1820s and is in remarkably good condition for its age. One can't help but imagine the generations of life lived under the cathedral-esque wooden shingled roof. A peaceful hush fills your ears within the chestnut and oak timber frame.

<div>It has served many purposes in the past, including housing animals; storing hay, feed, and equipment; and serving as a lively square dance venue mid-century.

<div>We have grand daydreams of hosting farm dinners, food preparation classes, square dances, funky puppet shows, and live music performances there someday.

<div>However, the barn needs some work before we can bring our big dreams to fruition.

<div><strong>The most pressing repair to preserve the structure is a new roof.</strong> The current roof is beyond repair and has more leaks than we have buckets. <strong>Every time it rains, the underlying structure gets wet. Every time the wind blows hard, we lose more shingles.</strong> Repairing the roof will ensure the underlying historic structure can stand for generations to come.
