Help Save Mum's Sight
Donation protected
Mum has a very large hole in the back of her left macular and needs surgery as soon as possible in order to retain sight in her eye (the longer she waits, the worse her sight becomes, rapidly leading to blindness).
There are very few specialists who perform the surgery to fix this issue and they require at least $5,500 up front to get the surgery done immediately (the theatre and anaesthetist fees are only an estimate on her invoice from the clinic)
If she waits 6 months the cost will be about $2000 less but she may have no sight by then. The doctor doesn’t do payment plans, you either pay the full amount 3 days before the due date or you don’t get the surgery done.
Mum is a full time carer for my grandmother so a carers pension means she can’t pull $5,500+ out of thin air.
Any donation is massively appreciated, every dollar counts. If you can spare any change, you may save my mothers eye sight and we will be forever grateful.
The longer we wait for treatment, the more her eyesight deteriorates.
My son only has one grandparent and it would mean the world to me if she could watch him grow up.
The Olive family would like to thank everyone who’s donated, shared, emailed words of kindness and support so far! It’s so appreciated and the gratitude we feel cannot even be expressed in words.
