<div><span>***UPDATE*** As of Friday January 30, 2026, I have lost my home to Sheriff </span><span>Sale. This being the case all donations will now go toward finding a new place to live, securing a storage unit, relocation and moving expenses. Essentially, I am seeking assistance, so I do not have to live in my truck or leave behind the possessions I have gathered over the 23 years I've lived here.  The following is a condensed bio of my situation.</span><br />

<div>I am a service-connected veteran with a 40% VA disability rating. After my military service ended in 1995, I began working for the US Postal Service, dedicating over 31 years of my life to federal service. For the first 17 years, I worked as a Sales &amp; Service Associate, and in 2013, I became a Postal Police Officer. It was in this role that I developed serious health problems due to a work injury. Just three years into the position, I began experiencing spinal issues, leading to lower back surgery in 2016. Unfortunately, the relief was temporary, and by 2020, my back problems returned. In 2022, I suffered a fall at work that resulted in hip and knee injuries, and by the end of that year, I was unable to continue working. My doctor attributed these injuries to the demands of my duty gear and a faulty vehicle at the time.

<div>In 2023, I underwent a second surgery, hoping to return to work, but it was unsuccessful. After spending over eighteen months without a salary, I finally received approval for Disability Retirement in 2024. My only income during this time was my VA benefits, which left me financially devastated. I struggled to pay my bills, fell behind on my credit cards, and most importantly, could not keep up with my mortgage. Although I submitted a federal Workers Comp claim, I've been denied four times over minor issues, with each appeal taking an additional six to ten months.  My attorney has filed for a national hearing, but time is running out. My mortgage company has foreclosed, and after 23 years in my home, I now face a sheriff’s sale scheduled for January 30, 2026. I raised my daughter here as a single father, hoping to leave her this home.

<div>Every attempt to get help has ended in disappointment. I never thought I’d find myself here after working for 31 years and suffering an injury at work. Although it is difficult and humbling to ask for help, I want to assure everyone who donates that your support means more than I can express.
