Urgent life saving brain surgery for Mr Wood

Mr. Vincent Woode is a 37-year-old widower living in Ghana. He has an 8-year-old son. He was a self-employed factory owner who made tiling cement and a strong presence in his community.
In 2013, Mr. Woode was diagnosed with a brain tumor behind his left eye. His condition is treatable, but not in Ghana, as it lacks the facilities for the required surgery and recovery. As a result, Mr. Woode has been suffering for years. His tumor continues to grow. Mr. Woode has lost vision and is unable to close his eye, even to sleep. He has been unable to work or participate in activities he used to enjoy, such as reading and donating his time to help others.
Without treatment, Mr. Woode will die from the increased pressure inside his brain. He is at risk for irreparable brain damage if he is not treated in the next 2 months.
To save his life, Mr. Woode must undergo surgery to remove the tumor and his left eye, followed by insertion of a prosthetic eye. His only option is to travel to Apollo Hospital in New Delhi, India, which is the most affordable Neurosurgery Center capable of handling his complex case. Depending on the pathology of the tumor, he may also require up to 6 weeks of radiation in India or in Ghana.
This treatment, along with travel to India and housing for his two-week recovery, will cost $20,000.00. Mr. Wood has been unable to raise the money in Ghana after several appeals.
I am an Internal Medicine Physician practicing in the Chicago area making house calls. I am also a philanthropist and I’ve made many trips to the Philippines and Ghana providing free medical care to those who would otherwise be unable to afford the care.

I learned of Mr. Wood’s story when I was in Ghana recently. He is experiencing a painful and debilitating condition that continues to get worse, only because of a lack of resources. What is left now is to safe his life!! I want to help him.
