Hi everyone,
We are Neil and Andrea, and we are reaching out with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit. A few days ago, our beautiful, fluffy white cat Lulu was found badly injured in the backyard of our house after we came home from the shop. We don't know exactly what happened to her, but it's clear she suffered a traumatic accident. Lulu is only 1.5 years old—just a baby, with so much life ahead of her.
After rushing her to the emergency vet, we received devastating news: her right back leg is broken, and the broken bone punctured through her skin. The veterinary team informed us that without surgery, her leg might need to be amputated. Without a leg, her life will never be the same. Worse, if we can't raise the funds in time, euthanasia could be the only remaining option to end her suffering. The thought of not having her back to us simply makes us all in tears.
But we believe Lulu deserves a fighting chance.
The emergency in the first 12 hours has already costed us $2500 AUD including medications, imaging, after hour charge, and hospital accommodation. The vet said because of how the broken bone punctured through her leg, Lulu needs a bone specialist to do surgery on her. We were quoted $17000 AUD just for the surgery. We were in shock and devastated. We went home and made a few calls, finally found another vet who is able to operate on her, charging $6600, including ordering a metal disc (which cost $2000) needed to repair her leg so she can hopefully walk again.
The total amount to have Lulu back to us is still overwhelming. But we cannot imagine a life without her. We are going to try everything we can to help her.
She is a sweet, gentle soul who purrs softly even through the pain. Despite everything, she hasn’t lost her trust in people. She looks at us with those big, hopeful eyes, telling us she misses us and wants to go home with us. We can’t give up on her.
Lulu came to us as a young 3 months old kitten full of life and energy. She was found at a parking lot near a friend's workplace. Our friend took this white fluffy little kitten home, but our friend cannot keep a pet permanently due to family circumstances. That's when we decided to give this little kitten another chance for life. She fits right away in our family and got along so well with our other pets - a mini dachshund and 2 older cats. This shows how resilient Lulu is.
We truly believe in the power of community and compassion. Please consider donating, even just a few dollars, to help us give Lulu the second chance she so desperately needs. Every dollar raised will go directly toward Lulu’s medical expenses and recovery. If you’re unable to contribute financially, sharing this campaign with your friends, family, and social networks can make a huge difference.
Together, we can show Lulu that love, kindness, and hope still exist—and that her story doesn’t have to end in tragedy.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for caring. ❤️
With gratitude,
Neil and Andrea
