<div>Hi there! Many of you know me as either Kelly or Ser. If you've talked to me for longer than 5 minutes, there's a huge chance I will mention my cat Izzy Pop at some point in our conversation. I've had her since she was 8 weeks old, and she is pushing 14 now. She has saved me countless times from self-harm and suicide, with her meows, purrs, and ability to insist on attention when I'm sobbing on the floor. She is my baby.

<div>But...Friday night 6/13, after setting up for Pride, I came home to my cat having not moved from the same position I saw her 12 hours ago, <strong>extremely lethargic, not eating or drinking, and hot to the touch.</strong>

<div>I rushed her to the emergency vet 20 miles away. Staying until 5am, desperate for them to find something. The vet noticed a <strong>heart murmur</strong> but said that could be from her being sick. She had a <strong>high fever, elevated white and red blood cell counts, and inflammation</strong>. This visit was <strong><em>$738 alone.</em></strong>

<div>They wanted to keep her overnight, give her fluids and anti-inflammatory, and do an emergency ultrasound. That was a $2,763 quote. I just didn't have it. So I kept an eye on her all weekend, switched her to all liquids. My baby was trying so hard to eat and drink, her face in her bowl and sitting there. But she couldn't do it.

<div>I took her to the vet on Monday 6/16. They did blood work, an x-ray, gave her fluid, and antibiotics. This was <strong><em>$1,433. </em></strong>The last of my money and then some. The x-ray found that Izzy has <strong>an enlarged heart, and her murmur is getting worse. </strong>She is <strong>building fluid in her chest.</strong>

<div>Once I got home, I got a call from the first vet I took her to, saying that they both talked, and she is<strong><em> going downhill quicker </em></strong>than they like. I still can't afford to take her in. So here I am on the floor, too afraid to leave, too scared to leave her.

<div><strong>The vet wants to do an echocardiogram. This is going to be close to $2,500-$3,000, and I don't have the money.</strong> I used all of CareCredit, Scratch Pay won't accept me, and I maxed out my personal credit cards for her on top of this all. I exhausted all of my savings, and money for rent, and there will still be more to do after the echocardiogram.

<div><strong>This hurts. So bad. The fact that I can't do what I should to save my girl, when she has saved me so many times. It breaks my heart. I just want her to feel better. I don't want to see her in this pain. I still want her to live the several years I know she has left. I honestly have no clue how I'm going to be able to cope if she doesn't make it through.</strong>
