Dear friends; Jim needs your help. A few short days ago he had a terrible fall and was unconcious. Due to prolonged compression of his limb he sustained a serious injury to the right arm. Excessive pressure built up at a dangerously high level restricting the blood flow to his arm.
Jim was diagnosed with acute compartment syndrome. Emergency surgery was required to reduce the pressure. This is the only treatment.
Jim's surgery required the muscle compartment to be cut open to decrease pressure in an effort to restore blood flow. Jim spent several hours in a coma and thankfully came to late Monday evening.
Jim has a long road ahead. The extensive wound must be kept open until his medical team can ensure his limb will survive. Complications may include muscle loss, amputation, infection, nerve damage, and kidney failure. A second operation may be required later to close the wound. This is a potentially devastating condition which can take months to years to heal. Jim is unable to work and medical bills are piling up. Please extend a helping hand to help ensure Jimmy a successful road to recovery. No gesture is too small. Keep him in your prayers during this difficult time.
