Help Save Faylee

Our beautiful 12 year old daughter, Faylee, who has a contagious smile, loves to run, loves the ocean and is an honor student has Anorexia. This slow yet rapid illness crept into our lives this past year. Faylee recalls being made fun of in grade school for being “Fat”. When Faylee entered middle school a year ago she became involved in running and also became vegan. With this, she was repeatedly told, “Wow, you’ve lost so much weight” and “You look so good!” which left her wondering, “Was I really “Fat”?  Slowly, Faylee started to eliminate “unhealthy” foods, then the elimination of healthy foods including fruits and vegetables, which eventually lead to her not being hungry at all. After a summer of prayers and doctor appointments, three days into her 7th grade year she was admitted into the hospital for extremely low vitals and weight. The immediate need for hospitalization was due to the fact that low vitals such as hers, could result in death in her sleep or while she was going about her day.

The last 3 weeks in the hospital have saved Faylee’s life. Faylee is not allowed to walk (including using the restroom) without using a wheelchair and continues to depend on a feeding tube to get all of her nutrition. Praise God, Faylee’s vitals are now stable! This has been an emotional roller coaster for her and it is not complete. The daily battle to overcome her anxiety with food is still present but she is strong and is working hard to fight it! 

Our next step is to get her the lifelong skills to fight this illness and to be a role model to others. We we are currently seeking support with the overwhelming cost of an eating disorder facility. The cost is $900 a day for 60 days for a total of $54,000.
