Dieulane Shelon has been a cherished part of my family since the early 2000s, working as our nanny in Haiti. She is a caring and loving person, not only to us but also as a devoted mother of three children and two grandchildren. At 54 years old, Dieulane was recently diagnosed with kidney failure—a life-threatening condition, especially in a country where hospitals and healthcare are scarce.

In the city where Dieulane lives, there is only one outdated dialysis center. My family and I have already placed her there for care, but the costs are overwhelming. In Haiti, local salaries make it nearly impossible for her to afford the dialysis sessions she desperately needs. Without these treatments, she won’t survive even a week. My family has been footing the bill so far, but we are reaching out for help to continue her care.
