Update on Chloe: Waiting to be able to see her and get some photos.
Vets have looked her over and never found a single spot where something could have bitten her. They believe that she was leaning up against the kennel which is metal - An when storms blew through a lightning strike potentially hit the kennel or grounds near by. Burning her in the process. With no eye witnesses to what happened this has left everyone speechless and clueless and Guessing!
She will be staying with the Vets to be monitored. The plan is to give her pain meds, sedate her, cut off any dead tissue and debride the area. Vets are talking about how to best treat the regrowth of her skin & fur but for now just getting the dead stuff off and just keeping her in our prayers.
Since 2015, this rescue has been dedicated to giving animals a second chance, but it wasn’t until 2025, when I joined as a Volunteer, that they truly began to grow. My passion for animals started when I was just 13, pet sitting and learning everything I could about animal care. Over the years, I’ve earned my Veterinary Assistant Certificate, worked at shelters, and moved to Fort Worth to expand my mission of helping pets in need. I even started my own Pet Sitting Business. Every animal that comes through my pet sitting doors receives the same love and care I gave to my very first clients, Tinka and Arabella, whose memory inspires me every day.
On November 21, 2025, during our usual routine, I noticed something alarming with one of our beloved rescue dogs, Chloe. She was missing a large patch of fur and skin on her back, yet she acted as if nothing was wrong. After consulting with our vet tech and attempting initial care, it became clear that Chloe needed to go to the ER immediately. The wound appeared to be flesh-eating, and even our experienced team had never seen anything like it. Emergencies like this are unpredictable and can quickly drain our resources, but we refuse to let any animal go without the care they need.
Thanks to past and current donations, we’ve been able to respond to emergencies right away, getting animals like Chloe the urgent treatment they deserve. Our emergency fund is what makes this possible, but it needs your help to continue. If you can and are willing to help replenish our ER fund, it is truly appreciated. Every dollar goes directly to caring for the animals on our property. If Chloe and the others could speak, I know they’d thank you from the bottom of their hearts.
My goal is to save as many animals as I can and find them the loving homes they deserve. No animal should spend their life in a cage, unseen and unloved. Your support means the world to us—thank you for helping us give them hope.
