Hi Everyone. I have started this go fund me for my friend Tiff, her partner Jae and the most perfect girl Charlie. Tragetically on Sunday the 5th her beloved service pup Charlie stop breathing! Charlie is more than a service pup to Tiff for her multiple back problems, she is one of the best souls I have had the pleasure of knowing, anyone who has come in contact with her will agree, from her bright eyes, kind heart and loving spirit, Charlie is truly one of a kind.
Now onto the serious business
She was rushed to the vet, the diagnoses, She has a hole in the bottom of her right lung, the vets thought it was a congenital defect, a hole that possibly caused by the smoke from the Redwood Valley fires in California where they where living before they lost their residence in those fires caused to pop, she would undergo ct scans to find out exactly where it is whats going on and then ultimately surgery if fixable.
That evening Charlie crashed 3 times thruout the night, they had to crack her chest and put a tube in to pull the air leaking from her lungs for her to survive, she then was placed in an oxygen tank.
Charlie stayed in that tank with a tube in her chest for 3 days untill what we hoped for... her lungs expanded enough for a CT scan. What they found? What appeared to get a black area of her bottom right lung and a foreign object, directly after the scan her mom's gave the okay and she was rushed to surgery...what they pulled out? 4.5in twig running down thru her lung and sticking out at the bottem, one tug and it came loose, they had to remove a quarter of her lung as it has died where the hole was. Her incredible surgeon at VCA Animal Care Hospital says she should heal perfect, Charlie is still in intensive care and being monitored to assure everything is as planned. Her mom's breath the hugest sigh of relief and are trying to stay positive for a perfect outcome for miss Charlie.
