To mark my 50th birthday this year I wanted to do something positive for a cause which is very close to my heart.

I am asking all of my lovely friends who are always so kind and generous to please refrain from buying me any birthday gifts and instead, if they are able, to give a donation to the wonderful charity who rescued, cared for and transported my two beloved cats all the way from Bahrain last year.

All funds raised will go directly to Clan McCat Scotland, a small but mighty charity run exclusively by volunteers who work so hard to rescue cats regardless of where they are in the world. They rehome cats to the UK, support TNR programmes, provide food to shelters that are really struggling to feed their rescues and provide medical care to as many injured, abused, neglected, abandoned or ill cats as they can.

Please note there is absolutely no obligation to donate. I know everyone will be skint after Christmas, but if you want to and are able, any donation however small will be much appreciated by this amazing charity (and it will cheer me up about turning 50!!).
