Help Save Brindi's Friends' Hearts!

My dog Brindi recently was featured on The Dodo and her rescue story has received over a million views. The support we have received since her story has gotten this exposure is overwhelming and we cannot thank you enough. Unfortunately, Brindi's story just happens to be one of MANY in the state of Louisiana specifically, due to the stray animal issue that has developed here. Louisiana is #2 in the United States for Heartworm Disease due to the humid temperatures (HW is transferred via infected mosquitoes). This, coupled with Louisiana's overwhelming stray population causes many loving, homeless and adorable dogs to fall victim to Heartworm disease. Brindi is just one of many. Insanely enough, we were able to raise the money for Brindi's treatment in ONE DAY, THANK YOU to everyone who donated we can't thank you enough. But if you are new here and were hoping to donate to Brindi's treatment, although we have already accomplished this, you can do just as much good by donating to this gofundme and giving one of Brindi's friends who have a very similar story the opportunity to receive treatment. The Humane Society helped us immensely with Brindi's rescue and vet visits, so we would love to repay them by using Brindi's exposure to help out a few more of their pups who are struggling with the same medical condition as her. All of the pups will have a much higher chance of being adopted once they are healthy, so if you want to help them get a second chance at having a loving family, feel free to donate!

More information about Natchitoches Humane Society Inc.: NHS rescues abandon/abused dogs and cats from local area and city shelter. We provide veterinary care including shots, treatment for any injuries, and heart worm treatment. All animals are spayed/neutered before they are adopted. We are an all volunteer organization with an operating budget of about 20,000 per year. Majority of our funding comes from the good caring people of Natchitoches. Veterinary care is expensive, please help.
