Help save Blau the Aussie Heeler!

My friend's dog, Blau ate a cat toy recently. The staple came out and punctured his stomach. He was operated on, but unbeknownst to anybody, he has highly sensitive skin and was allergic to the sutures they closed him up with. The vet noticed he was still not eating, and the sutures were infected. They opened him back up to discover a massive infection. Four hours later, he is all cleaned up, but now he has a protein/edema problem and they want to send him to a specialist.

When my friend, Lezle Stein, went to visit him today, he was ready to go home, wagging his tail and hiding from the vet. But he is in no condition to go home, as he is suffering from edema in both hind legs.

The vet bills are mounting and even though the vet has been more than generous with her time, Blau now needs to go to another facility where the edema can be treated.
