Help Save Chance's Leg

Donation protected
Chance is a 9 year old Shih Tzu. He has be an intrepid athlete his entire life. Last August he reached over 24901 miles which is the distance around Earth at the Equator. https://www.alaskasnewssource.com/2021/09/16/anchorage-man-his-dog-make-lap-around-planet-walking-over-24901-miles-past-8-years/  He has walked with me every day of his life. In the past month he walked many days of over 20 miles. That was his and my life until last Thursday 2/10.  Chance was attacked from behind by a large German shepherd. Animal Control has not been able to determine who's dog it was. Chance was left with numerous lacerations and puncture wounds on his back and left rear leg. Those wounds should heal fine. However, his right foreleg is badly damaged. The humerus was shattered by the crushing bite of the attacker. Chance will have surgery very soon to try to save his leg. He may need to have his leg amputated but my hope is the surgeon can repair it. The surgery is very complex and will require plates and bone grafts. Please pray for my little lion heart Chance.   He is deeply loved.  The bill for all of this estimated to be around $8000. Please help me help this amazing little dog who is always ready to go the extra mile get back to his prodigious life!

Sincerely,  Mike Mitchell
