<div>My Name Is Jason and I'm a friend of Masashi and Masumi Okabayashi. Masashi and Masumi are Japanese born, permanent residents of Toronto Canada and have lived here for over 19+ years.

<div>Masumi is a 37 years old mother of 3 amazing kids aged 18 months, 3 and 6.
</div>

<div>About 3 months ago, after experiencing trouble breathing and severe back pain, she received a shocking diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer, also known as metastatic lung cancer, while she was having a vacation with her kids in her home country, Japan.
</div>

<div>Testing revealed that one quarter of her right lung was no longer functioning and that the cancer has spread to the other lung, brain and also the bones in her back.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The cancer she was diagnosed with is called Non Small Cell Lung Cancer.
</div>
<div>This cancer is often found in non-smokers and does not usually cause noticeable symptoms until it's spread through the lungs or into other parts of the body, so it’s hard to diagnose in its early stages.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The medication that she is currently receiving is unfortunately very expensive and giving her family financial hardships. Although this medication is showing positive effects to her cancer as of now, in most cases, it has been proved that her body will start creating antibodies to this medication and thus causing it to be less and less effective over the course of around 18 months in average.

<div>When this happens, she will need to proceed to receiving different kinds of other treatments, which will further hurt her family financially.
</div>

<div>Her goal is to move back to Toronto, Canada, where she had lived since she was 18.
</div>
<div>She has been able to remain strong in front of her children but inside is deeply frightened and devastated thinking about their future without her.
</div>
