Let us give you some insight about our precious sister Sarah Torrance. Sarah is the kind of women that is admired by all of us. She was married in February 36 years ago to Jerry Torrance. They have 3 beautiful children, JT (Jerry Torrance Jr.) and Leah, and Chad. She now has 3 wonderful grandchildren, named Landon, Jett, and Judd. Along the way, Sarah has made a nice little business for herself and has found great joy in that, also taking great care of her family. Sarah continues to be an incredibly supportive wife and endeavors to love and support her family. She also whole-heartedly supports her husband Jerry who works tirelessly at the Fire Department in Davenport, Florida. We say “tirelessly”, because we have been there in their modest home, when he is up all hours of the night helping people in his community.
Sarah and Jerry are both very dedicated to their family and their community and their religious affiliation and her business as well. Sarah, being the self-sacrificing person she is, over the years also dedicated many years while juggling her own family and business, decided to care for our aging parents. Both her and Jerry lovingly decided to care for our father, our mother who had alzheimer's, and a Great Aunt Myra. They never asked for anything in return, they did it out of love. True love in action!
Here is where we need your support for our precious sister Sarah. Like we mentioned before, Sarah lovingly accepted to be the caregiver of our dear aging mother. During that time, she took wonderful care of Chad her son, who as most of you know, Chad has a disability of chromosome Dup15q and leaves him global developmentally delayed. Autism is also found in this syndrome. Chad needs round the clock care because of his special needs.
She supports causes like Dup15q and alzheimer's, and other causes, because she would like research to meet the needs of those affected by them. She wants better treatments for them, and to help make positive changes in their lives.
Now here’s where we all come in, after the passing of our mother, Sarah began experiencing severe pains in her abdominal area. Jerry immediately rushed her to Urgent Care, but then that quickly changed, she was rushed to the ER at the Heart of Florida Hospital in Davenport. On arrival, she was tearfully whisked away from Jerry and found herself in the hands of the Doctor and nurses there. Her immediate issues were addressed by the best care the Hospital could give her and her worst fear came true. They took all the tests they could and the tests became clear that the gut wrenching news of cancer appeared. They found a mass, a tumor, and lymph nodes showed stage 3 cancer in her large intestine. Sarah now faced needing an ileostomy bag and other serious issues to overcome. After many trips in and out of surgeries and in and out of treatments, and in and out of the hospital for months on end, she had to overcome dehydration, blood clots, infections, to name a few.
Sarah now finds herself fighting this hard battle for her precious life. She found out she needs a hysterectomy, she needs chemo, she needs the reversal done as well, and treatments for anemia and physical therapy. Sarah is very hopeful as you can imagine because Sarah does have strong religious beliefs that there is a God who cares about her and is looking after her. Her faith keeps her strong and she has not ever given into despair or fear and keeps fighting for her life. Unfortunately, they do not have insurance. And we need to help her care for her financial responsibilities and assist them in in paying these unexpected mounting medical bills and future medical bills as well.
