Most of you know me. For those who don't, hi my name is Sarah. I use to play sports with some of you and it was so much fun! After high school I went and started taking care of mentally ill individuals who were handicapped in a group setting. I found I love this line of work, no surprise my mom and grams were nurses and owned long term care facilities when I was young. So, anyway, I decided to go and get my CNA license so I could do what I love and that was care for people.. I obtained my license and started working in long term care and any who works in healthcare they know it is long hours, short staffed, usually unappreciated, and over worked. I kept at it though. I loved my residents. I worked on the behavioral and Alzheimers units. I ended up getting hurt and having to have back surgery. That one went well, and after healing I went back to work. Well, the disc I had herniated the first time ended up having another herniation again. I ended up having to go under the knife again about a year after the first time I had surgery. I went through the whole healing thing again and eventually ended up having to have a 3rd surgery two years later, again it was something from work. Wel, after the third surgery I took a break. I went on to be a cook for a while and enjoy life. During this time ai had two rotator cuff surgeries wit a bicep tendon cut and anchor. During this time I also found out that I had Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome which is a genetic disorder that basically makes your soft tissue and connective tissue trash. By the time I found out I had it I had already done everything I am not suppose to do. Still though the healthcare field pull was too great. I just wanted to help people. So back I went. I started back in home settings. Going frome home to home and helping people. That is what I was doing during covid. Let me tell you the fun in that. I ended up back in the long term care setting eventually and yet again was hurt. I ended up having a fourth back surgery. This one had a lot of nerve issues with it including drop foot, neuropathy in both legs, I have been going to the pain clinic for 18 years and get injections and radio frequency in my back every 6 months, I have had a hysterectomy, appendectomy, tonsillectomy, bilateral inguinal hernia surgery making a total of 10 surgeries. They have found lesions in my brain which make it hard to remember things and sometimes talk. I am also having issues with my left knee and my bad shoulder again. I am walking with a cane now and trying to learn to live a not so active life. With all this I have had to try to balance out my bipolar, PTSD, ADHD, and panic disorder. I am just looking for help to pay the bills and feed my fur babies until I can get things together. It has been such a big change mentally and physically. Anything will help. Thank you in advance.
