We are Sarah Louise’s family advocating on behalf of Sarah Louise. She needs a new bus. Her current Fiat Scudo has mechanical issues and has spent more time in a garage than being driven and Sarah is very worried about being able to get to where she needs to be, E.g hospital appointments, work and for her independence.  Sarah Louise was born with cerebral palsy and later it was discovered that she has only one hip socket, as well as scoliosis, which meant she would never be able to walk. She had a"blue buggy" until the age of 7, when she got her first wheelchair. The first motorised wheelchair she got in her teenage years giving her a new lease of independence. 

 Sarah Louise's wheelchair is motorised which enables her to drive by herself. She can move around the house and go into the village to the shop, the pub, the pitch or grave yard. When she wants to travel further she is dependent on others who can drive a wheelchair accessible bus.    Sarah Louise likes going places such as to the dancing, concerts, restaurants, family parties or weddings... Sarah works in Ennsicorthy and usually gets collected for work but at times she needs to be brought or collected and for this she needs independent transport that family or friends can bring her in.
Her partner Con lives in the Ballagh and both like seeing each other and need help to be brought to each others places. 
 Sarah Louise also has vital personal or medical appointments and in order to attend these she needs to be driven in her bus. 

Most wheelchair accessible vehicles are not big enough for Sarah Louise's wheelchair. As a result she needs a vehicle that is big and tall enough and with a wide enough ramp for her to be able to get into it hence the price. In the past there used to be government funding to assist in the purchase of a wheelchair accessible vehicle but this is no longer in place. Although there is vat back possibilities , this applies only to brand new cars or busses and not for second hand ones.
The funds raised will be solely used for the purchase of a wheelchair accessible bus. We are hoping to raise €15,000.
