Mona and Kirk received news that no one ever wants to hear, especially not a parent. Their 4-year-old daughter Sarah had a biopsy done on a lump they discovered on her leg. It was identified as a tumor that is most likely Malignant Osteosarcoma, a form of cancer that begins in the cells that form bones. Sarah will need more scans done to determine if it has spread and what the next course of treatment will be. The scans that Sarah will need along with the eventual surgery and treatments she will go through require them to travel back and forth to Portland.
Mona and Kirk have 3 other children that they are trying to comfort and make life as normal as possible for; while also preparing to make the commute for oncology appointments.
They are prepared to do whatever it takes to fight Sarah's cancer. In doing so they will have to take time off work, commute to Portland and provide for their family with inflation and gas being at an all-time high. As Mona and Kirk's family we are asking for your help to take some of the financial burdens away so they can focus on providing the best care for Sarah. We know Sarah is Strong and we ask that you join her fight against cancer.
