<div>Sara Rubenstein recently experienced a devastating loss that no pet owner should ever have to face. Just days after adopting her new dog, a tragic accident occurred during a routine walk. In a heartbreaking moment her dog was struck by a car in a hit-and-run. Sara witnessed the entire event, losing her beloved companion in a violent and traumatic way.

<div> Since the accident, Sara has been doing her best to cope by staying busy and trying not to sit alone with the shock of what happened. Some days are harder than others. She often looks back at the photos, videos, and small memories they managed to make in such a short time—walks, quiet moments at home, and the excitement of welcoming a new friend. Even though their time together was brief, the bond was real and meaningful. The grief has been overwhelming, with a constant mix of sadness, disbelief, and the feeling of something precious being taken before it had the chance to fully grow.

<div> On top of the emotional pain, Sara is now facing the financial challenge of adopting another dog. She cannot afford the costs of adoption fees, veterinary care, supplies, and training. While nothing can replace the companion she lost, having the support to welcome another dog in the future would represent healing, comfort, and a way forward. It would give Sara a reason to rebuild trust, routine, and companionship after such a painful experience. Your support can help her reclaim joy and connection in her life, when she’s ready.
