Help San Diego Youth See First API Super Hero

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is the first Marvel film centered around an API hero. To help more youth see themselves represented on the big screen (and as fans of Marvel) we [Brittney, Jenna, Lauren, and Laura] are joining the #ShangChiChallenge by starting this GoFundMe to help send youth from the Boys & Girls Club of Greater San Diego to see the movie.

Our goal is to fund the tickets for 50 youth + chaperones from the San Diego Boys and Girls Club! In San Diego, movie tickets for a child are around $12 and $16 for an adult. 

What better place to launch this fundraiser than in the city of Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton's alma mater, Point Loma Nazarene University?

Please consider donating for even one kid to see themself and/or a more inclusive range of heroism represented on the big screen.

Ticket distribution:

I [Laura] am working directly with the San Diego Boys and Girls Club to make this dream happen! To boost the opening weekend viewership, I will be using the funds from this GoFundMe and working with the Boys and Girls Club Greater San Diego Area to buy the tickets to Shang-Chi throughout September 3rd-September 5th. The Boys and Girls Club Greater San Diego Area admin will then distribute the tickets to members. After the opening weekend, if any additional funds are raised, I will work with The Boys and Girls Club to send tickets for additional showings.
