Donation protected
On May 4th, Samantha and Calum woke up to their seven week old baby unresponsive. When they tried to wake him he was short of breath and his eyes had rolled in the back of his head. They rushed Kilian to the closest emergency building, which at the time was the fire station on KGB in Wasilla, Alaska. The EMTs then rushed him to Mat-Su regional Hospital, where they instantly contacted the medevac team to get him to Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska, due to his critical condition. Once at Providence Killian had to spend 10 days in the PICU until he was stable enough to breathe on his own. During The 10 days in the PICU Samantha and Calum were faced with some of the hardest questions and most difficult decisions they’ve ever had to make. They have fought and advocated for Kilian every single day! And continue to push for him to get the best treatment they can. After his first 10 days in the PICU Kilian was moved to the pediatric unit for another 20 days, and his parents have not left his side once.
Today Samantha and Calum Will be taking Kilian to the best rehab facility for kids in his situation. They will have to travel to Chicago, Illinois but are completely unsure of the amount of time They will have to stay there. Samantha and Calum will both continue to stay by Kilian’s side through his whole recovery journey.
Our goal is to take the financial stress away from these parents while they are focused on recovery for their child. With both of them being out of work for about 4 to 6 months, you can only imagine the financial burden that they are facing. As a friend, and as a parent myself, I cannot imagine trying to deal with the stress of finances during this time. We are asking for financial support to take care of not only medical bills, which are already stacking up, but also to help with housing bills, car payments, traveling cost and their relocation to Chicago.
Please help support Samantha Calum and Kilian during their journey to recovery. Thank you to everybody who has continued to say prayers, You have helped the hope stay alive for Sam and calum during this time. Let’s help make sure they don’t have to suffer and stress more when they come home to a pile of bills. We are beyond grateful for you all and appreciate the abundant amount of suppot
