Hi everyone,

We’re reaching out on behalf of our coworker and friend, Sam Payne, who has just experienced a heartbreaking loss. Over the weekend, while Sam was away, a fire completely destroyed his home. He returned to find everything gone—his belongings, his personal items, and the place he called home.

Despite the devastation, Sam still came in to work today at Spence, showing up with incredible strength and resilience. Right now, he’s staying in a hotel for the next three days, but beyond that, he has no place to go and no belongings to fall back on.

We’re hoping to rally support for Sam from our community, coworkers, and anyone who can help. Funds raised will go directly to helping him with the basics—temporary housing, clothing, food, and starting to rebuild his life from the ground up. Sam is a hardworking, kind-hearted person who would never ask for help—but we know he needs it now more than ever.
