Help Sam come home to his daughter

On January 17th Sam was picked up by ICE and brought to a detention center pending deportation. He urgently needs your help right now to hire an immigration attorney to represent him on February 25th (IN 4 DAYS' TIME!) and for the rest of the deportation proceedings.

For those of you who do not know him personally, Samuel B. Griffiths is a devoted parent at Garrison Elementary DCPS, former PTO president and a wonderful member of the U street community. He is a citizen of Liberia who emigrated to the US as a young child and became a legal permanent resident. ICE is threatening to deport him to Liberia, away from his daughter and family.

His legal fees are likely going to be around $10,000 and his extended family is cobbling together all the money they can.  

But in addition to hiring a lawyer, Sam and his family need your financial support while they go through this ordeal. Sam is likely to be in detention for the entire duration of his deportation case which could easily go on for another 6 months, during which he is not going to be able to work.
