I really need help.

I've had my 2 years old cat, Salem, for about a year now. He's the sweetest and most affectionate companion. I could never have dreamed of a better pet...

Having been through a lot in my life, I've been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, persistent depressive disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder, so I've been suggested to adopt an emotional support animal to help regulate my emotions on a daily basis. This is when I adopted Salem, a year ago. It was love at first sight after searching for the right one for roughly a month. Yet, after signing the adoption papers, the refuge told me that he was a carrier of the feline herpes virus. I didn't mind. I took care of him regardless, paying for countless bills at the vet. He had eye ulcers two times before, making a quick recovery in a bit more than a week, but this time is different. Salem has now developed a corneal sequestrum and is currently under medication. His eye isn't getting better and the vet is afraid that he might need surgery, or even the removal of his eye. The mere thought of it kills me, yet I can't deny the fact that it might be necessary in the worst-case scenario. The multiple vet appointment bills are now piling up and I know that I won't be able to follow up with the small salary I'm on... I have to admit I'm at wits end. Salem had helped me get through so much already, especially thought a break up with my ex-partner of 11 years. I can't stand there and do nothing to help my cat feel better. He's my whole world. I feel horrible asking for charity, but I would feel worse if Salem ends up suffering because I can't afford his treatments. I really don't want him to loose his eye as well. I hope it can still be treated and saved, but I need your help. Please help me pay for the care he needs.
