Help Safe Haven build a creative school for kids

Donation protected
We want to raise £ 35,000 to help build a design/creative centre for underprivileged children and kids with disabilities.

Background:

2020 was a challenging year - the coronavirus impacted most of our lives in one way or another. But amid the global pandemic, my husband and I were also desperately fighting to save the life of our eight-year-old daughter Valerie.

Valerie was born with a rare disease Chronic granulomatous disease (CGD), which causes the immune system to malfunction and prevents it from fighting certain infections. the condition affects about eight people in a million.

Sadly, despite a brave battle, our middle daughter lost her battle with CGD after suffering multiple organ failure last April.

Like any other parents, my husband John and I wanted time to grieve our daughter, but we were unable to grieve because, thanks to a cruel twist of fate, our youngest daughter four-year-old Praise was diagnosed with the same disease as her late sister.

I'm sure many of you reading this would have forgiven us if we chose to retreat inwards and focus on our own family, but we have always been a family filled with love. So we decided to launch our charity: Safe Haven – A Ray of Hope.

For those of you who knew Valerie, you know she was very creative and loved music. Her dream was to become a fashion designer. But above all, she was such a caring girl. Safe Haven – A Ray of Hope has allowed us to continue Valerie's vision.

Last year, our team delivered toys, food items, and cash donations to children in hospitals and orphanages across the UK and Africa. But we're not finished yet. We want to honour Valerie's life by building a fashion design/ creative centre in Newcastle (where Valerie lost her last fight ) for underprivileged children and kids with disabilities.

Fundraising

To meet our fundraising target, Safe Haven – A Ray of Hope will release a charity single with Afrobeat Star Flavour N'abania and UK-based songstress Anna Reay on 7th April 2021 (World health day)

Your donations will allow us to continue our much-needed work of delivering supplies to orphanages and hospitals. You'd also be helping us to provide a permanent fashion design /creative centre.
