Who We Are:
We are Sacred Circle Homestead, a young couple utilizing Indigenous wisdom to grow woody perennial species to heal the Earth and it's people. We strive to spread abundance through plants at an affordable price, the Earth's People should not have to be gouged to enjoy the bounty we all once shared. We are currently on borrowed land, using about 1/8th of an acre to cultivate most of our own food alongside our production beds for our small nursery, however we need to expand in order to greater heal the Earth, serve our community and more customers nationwide.
Our Mission:
The mission of Sacred Circle is to work to create an inspiring example and reestablish healthful human presence, to provide affordable access to plant-based abundance, and to pass on the mindful wisdom and skills that promote a reciprocal restoration of balanced living ecosystems.
What Will This Campaign Fund?
With help from this campaign, we have secured 12.24 acres in Northeastern Vermont! We will use the Land to educate the public, practice sustainability, and help create biodiversity and abundance available to others. Your continued help will aid us in the rest of the financial battle, helping cover the costs of building, energy infrastructure, potable water access and more. We are building a small home for ourselves and will continue to produce the bulk of our own food and medicine, along with being able to establish permanent perennial plantings that will aid our nursery in terms of genetic diversity of plants and increasing plant stock for others. Perennial plants (trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants that come back year after year) are extremely useful for the Planet and the People who live here. They have been our sources of food and abundance for millennia and we have only just recently switched to primarily annuals. Perennial plants help suck carbon out of the atmosphere, they retain soil from erosion, they create habitat for wildlife, and they can produce large amounts of food and medicine.
What Will Sacred Circle Offer?
In addition to continuing to sell vigorous plants at an affordable price on the Land that this campaign will help purchase, we will host workshops, classes, retreats and seminars focusing on living lightly on the land, homesteading, herbalism, organic gardening, permaculture design, folk skills, and designing landscapes with permanent edible elements. We hope to educate folks in the community and whoever else is willing to come to us about the importance of trees and shrubs to the planet and all it's inhabitants. We hope to educate and show by example that there is a simpler, more meaningful way of life, and that humans have just recently strayed away from that. Being close to Nature and the Land has immense rewards in a mental, physical, emotional and spiritual sense.
What Will This Mean To Us?
The support you give will be of utmost importance to us, as we cannot do this without your help. We will not go to a bank and take out a mortgage and pay three times what we would need to, just to create more debt and profit in the hands of corporate wealth. We need folks like you and me to help us out in an organic fashion, to donate with Love and respect, and know that it will reciprocate back to you. We will not support the industrial corporate ruling class who is the culprit of all of the destruction and environmental degradation that we are trying to reverse and combat. That is why we need your help! This is the only way that we will reach our goal in a timely manner, otherwise we may be too late!
Schikoy's Indigenous heritage speaks to her in a way that many people may or may not understand. Her People have been in the North-Eastern part of this country for thousands--if not more--years. They speak to her through the plants, the wind, the waters and the energies of the Land. She knows it is her mission to help heal the destruction done to the homelands of her People. You can help repair some of the damage done to her people and their ancestral lands.
We would be incredibly, eternally grateful for anyone willing to donate any amount, and we can repay you by making sure that with every donation contributed, we will be making the Earth a better place. We need this Land to expand our plantings, and with every tree or shrub we plant, or ship, we will be increasing biodiversity in our planet, and sequestering carbon at the same time. We will continue to ship to like-minded, good-hearted folks who will also be responsible stewards of the Land. We want to provide the people of this continent with healing food that will last for generations, Nature's medicine that can help our children and our grandchildren. We can't do this without Land to call home.
