<div>Ryan has lived in their house and Altadena for 15 years, since they were 21. Ryan's entire neighborhood has been destroyed by the Eaton fires. Although Ryan's house is standing on a block of a few houses, there is no potable water, no electricity, and all the power lines are down, meaning the city has to rebuild the infrastructure. Police are not letting people inside. And houses exposed to fires must go through fire remediation to clear toxicity before being livable again due to housing infrastructure becoming toxic at fire temperatures.

<div>Ryan has the next 10 days figured out, but beyond that they are considering temporary living -- which is all the more challenging with their dog, Mica. Ryan is hoping to return to Altadena but is unsure when that will be possible. Prior to the fires, Ryan was receiving government-funded assistance for their education as a therapist in training. But given the emergency circumstances, Ryan is taking time off from school, and thus is without any way to cover their living expenses.
