Helping Rutledge & Winston

First, thank you for even clicking on this page and for caring about our boys. Your love, encouragement, and support have meant so much to us.

As most of you know, our chocolate Lab Rutledge recently had a sudden health emergency. He wasn’t himself, and when we rushed him to the emergency vet, an x-ray showed something unusual in his stomach. To avoid the risk of things worsening, he went into exploratory surgery, where they discovered he had swallowed a pair of underwear whole, causing a blockage. Thankfully, the surgery was successful and Rutledge pulled through, but the bill came to over $4,800.

At the same time, our other Lab Winston has been waiting for his own surgery. He has a lump on his arm that needs to be removed, and it has been recently been getting significantly bigger. Because of its location he must see a specialist for the surgery. The estimate for his procedure is around $5,000, and he also has a few smaller lumps that will be evaluated at the same time. We had been saving for this, but Rutledge’s emergency has set us back, and now Winston is still waiting for the care he needs.

We didn’t plan to ask, but a few of you have reached out asking how you can help. Donations will first go toward paying back Rutledge’s surgery bill. Anything above that will go directly toward Winston’s surgery so we can get him scheduled sooner.
