My name is Ruth Anderson. My husband Eric had been a very hard working truck driver for close to 40 years and owner operator for many of those. He was old school and tried to help everyone he could across country. He always looked out for his trucking brothers and sisters. In Feb 2025 he had hurt his foot on a load of steel he was hauling. Til he had gotten home 2 days later it had turned into a huge blister. He doctored but was released from wound clinic with a black spot on his toe, within 5 days he was in septic shock and dying. I rushed him to Hershey Med Center where the trauma surgeons said that he had the rarest form of Flesh Eating Bacteria and he wouldn't make it 2 more hours. They rushed him to the OR where his leg was amputated to save his life. Exactly two months later he died at our home. Our adult daughter and I performed CPR on him for 25 minutes until the medics got here. They used the Lucas on him for almost and an hour before the coroner's pronounced him. He went into Cardiac Arrest from a blood clot. Due to the type of death with the flesh eating bacteria 2 months earlier and amputation they had to do a special in-depth autopsy. It took 4 months for his autopsy to be finalized. The Flesh Eating Bacteria (not the kind from water) had already done its damage 2 months earlier. We have struggled greatly since our business was down in February then he suddenly passed on July 27th. We have never asked for anything in life, we both worked hard. We went through everything we had from February on. I know things are hard for everyone and it's Christmas and this is very hard for me to do this. His funeral bill is almost $7,000....we sadly didn't have life insurance. Anything is appreciated but f you can't donate , would you please say a prayer for us and share this GoFundMe. I work and I'm 60 but this is worrying me so much. We have always given and not take. He had so much he wanted to do because all he ever did was work hard. I included graphic photos of his foot and leg the night he was dying and they amputated. The obituary and funeral home info is in it. Thank you so very much. I promise to pay this forward.
