Help Russ fight multiple myeloma

Hello friends…. last month we found out Russ was diagnosed with multiple myeloma which is an uncommon form of cancer which builds plasma in the bone marrow and attacks the bones from the inside eating away at them. This came as quite a shock to us and our family; He has always been quite active and healthy, exercising, running every day, and being an active outdoorsman. Russ served more than thirty years in the Army (both active duty and National Guard) and still serves in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He is currently being treated for this cancer however, it is a very long process that requires chemo, bone strengthening medicine and eventually stem cell transplants. Even after all these treatments, he will have to continue taking medication to keep it in check (there is no cure, it can only go into remission). All the medications are very expensive (some are $16,000 for a 28-day supply) Even with insurance, the out of pocket costs have been adding up quicklyeven with medical insurance, the bills are and will continue to add up quickly. The out of pocket expenses (co-pays, travel to treatments, and all the other small items that you never think of) builds up so fast it seems overwhelming. If you could assist in our battle against this cancer, it would be a wonderful thing and would show us that we are not going this alone, but we have a team of friends fighting side by side!
