My name is Ruba Maher, I am 30 years old from Gaza.

I studied Medical Secretarial Studies at Al-Azhar University in Gaza — a place that represented my future, my hard work, and my dreams. But in 2023, during the war, the university was destroyed… just like our home, which was completely reduced to rubble.

We also lost many of our loved ones — including uncles and cousins. The grief is heavy, but we try to hold on to hope.

Today, I live with my mother, father, and brothers in a relative’s small house after losing everything we owned.

The house is overcrowded, and life conditions are extremely difficult.

We have no clean water, no healthy food, and the prices of basic necessities continue to rise beyond what we can afford.

Despite everything, my family still tries to hold on to hope:

Two of my brothers are engineers.

One is studying law.

And our youngest brother is a pharmacy student who dreams of helping others.

My eldest brother, Ahmed, is married and has two young sons — Maher and Jad.

Jad was born during the war. He has never known peace, safety, or the simple joy every child deserves.

Right now, we are in desperate need of help — not for luxury, but for basic human dignity:

food, clean water, medicine, warmth, and safety.

Every small donation makes a real difference:

a meal for my family, medicine for my father, or just a moment of relief for my mother and my young nephews.

For many years, I used a medication called Uromex to manage severe migraine attacks. It helped me live normally. But due to the war, I can no longer get it in Gaza, and the pain often becomes unbearable.

We are doing everything we can to survive and to stay strong, but we cannot do it alone.
