Help Roy Simon

Donation protected
For those of you that have ever used my first company, Point2Point Moving, chances are good you remember Roy Simon.   Roy was my first employee back in 2009 and, undoubtedly, an integral part to the company's success.  After selling P2P in 2015, Roy and I remained friends and I recently called him to see how he was doing post-Hurricane Harvey.  In true Roy fashion, he answered the call with a smile on his face and immediately asked me how I was holding up, how my boys are and if anything happened to my house in the flood.  After filling him in, I turned the question back around on him (not expecting what I was about to hear due to the positive attitude that Roy was (and is always) displaying) and he informed me that he and his family (wife, 2 children of his own and 2 that they have taken in) were all living at George R. Brown because  their home took on 5 feet of water.   He told me that he still hadn't been able to return to assess the damage so I said I'd pick him up and drive him over.   From the moment we turned onto his street, it was clear that there wasn't going to be much left from the place he and his family called 'home'.  There was still a foot of standing water in his bedroom, appliances had floated out of his kitchen into the living room/dining room and, on top of that, his house had been looted for the few remaining items of value.

I can't imagine losing everything I've worked my entire life for, but if I ever do, I hope to take it with as much grace and humility as Roy did.  He made a few passes through the house, grabbed a few (still soaking wet) items of clothing from he and his childrens closets and said "it was time to go start over somewhere else"

With everyone's help, I want to start this gofundme campaign for my friend Roy Simon so he and his family can get back on track.  Any amount of money you can donate will be greatly appreciated and I hope to report back that we reached our goal of $5,000 by October 1.

Thank you!
