Help Roy A. Pearson Fight Burkitt Lymphoma

As some of you are already aware Roy, 54, was recently diagnosed with Burkitt Lymphoma, a rare and very aggressive form of lymphoma. This came as quite a shock to Roy and his family because he is rarely ill. Roy, his wife Teresa, daughter Hannah and son Jacob live in Rochester, IL, a small town about 10 miles southeast of Springfield, IL.

Roy and his family have decided to fight back against his lymphoma and as you are probably aware, the medical and personal expenses associated with this fight will be very costly. Roy is undergoing treatment at Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO where he has had numerous tests to determine the extent of the lymphoma. The chemotherapy treatment that Roy is undergoing cannot be done closer to home due to the specialized type of chemo used for Burkitt lymphoma. Every time Roy has a treatment he must travel to Siteman for a brief admission and then return home. (Roy is immuno-compromised and had to have transfusions and IV fluids almost every day at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL the first week he was home from Siteman from his initial admission.) Family members are assisting in caring for Roy as well as transporting him for treatment as he is very weak.

Friends of the family have started this campaign to help offset the expenses that Roy and his family will incur during these treatments and while Roy is unable to work.

Roy is a wondferful husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. Please join us in helping Roy and his family, not only financially but with thoughts and prayers during this fight.
