Hello,
We are a FEMA-trained Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) in the Rotonda neighborhoods. After Hurricanes Helene and Milton, we are in need of funds to help offset expenses, resupply, make repairs, and rebuild our coffers to be prepared for 2025 Hurricane Season.
After Hurricane Milton left us with no power and no cell or internet service, we worked with the Rotonda West Association Board of Directors and Management to offer the Community Center and it’s generator as a place to come get cooled off and to recharge devices. We also had 73 volunteers and more requests for Safety and Wellness checks than we could handle. We did get to the majority but need to do better in the future with better communications capability. Rotonda West Women’s Club has donated $500 so we can upgrade our radios to get the job done. Our next two projects are working with the Englewood Waterfest Parade Committee on Dearborn, as a First Aid Station and then will be assisting the Rotonda West Christmas Parade Committee with safety vests and communications for their volunteers.
We are there when our neighbors need us the most.
Any contribution would be greatly appreciated no matter how small or large.
Thanks,
John Blanchette
Sr. Team Lead
Rotonda CERT
