Help Save Rosie the Labrador

Rosie is our beautiful chocolate lab who brings incredible joy to all of her family and friends. Losing Rosie would be devastating to those of us who love her dearly. She is only 6 years old. We believe she has so much more joy and fulfillment to bring to everyone if her veterinarians can continue to diagnose and treat her. Rosie needs more time under her doctors' care in order to receive the best possible outcome.
Just a little over a week ago Rosie was an incredibly active, healthy, happy dog.
On Thursday October 12, Rosie wasn't feeling well, so we made an emergency visit to the vet. They gave her antibiotics for an infection and let her come home.
On Monday October 16, Rosie wasn't eating or drinking so she went back to the veterinary clinic for overnight observation, and to make sure she was getting adequate nutrition. The next morning they told us that her platelet count was low, and they believed she had immune-mediated thrombocytopenia (IMT). They began treating her for IMT right away.
We could no longer get her to eat or take her medicine at home so she has been at the vet hospital since Thursday October 19. Although she has had some high points, her response from treatment has not been consistent and we are so afraid of losing her.
Her treatment so far has cost upwards of +$4,000, which is beyond what I have the ability to pay. I am currently paying off student loans in addition to the everyday expenses, and my income is limited because I am in an entrepreneurial start-up. My mother loves Rosie too, and has offered to contribute, and so have some of my friends.
We are hoping to raise $5,000 to help pay for her current treatment and give us the ability to see a specialist who knows more about the causes and treatment of her condition.
I felt this would be the best means to give Rosie a real chance. For any of you who know and love her or who wish to contribute to helping her get the most accurate diagnosis and best possible life and health extending treatment available.
I would also like to extend this invitation to anyone who feels moved to get Rosie the help and care she needs.
