Help Rose's Family

Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,
Many of you know my good friend Rose, her boys Favio and Nikolo and her mom Margarita and her dad Frank.  This family has been like an extension of my own family for many years. Rose is a single mom raising her elementary school aged boys and taking care of her parents who live with her. Rose and I met in Grad school  and we became instant friends!

Rose is now the Director of student wellness and support services for the district counselors ,and district crisis intervention team. She continues to be the individual who  runs the trauma informed educator program and  who trains principals and staff how to prepare for trauma in the schools.

I have never put together a Go –Fund –Me Page, but I think it is time to call in the cavalry and ask for some help for a very deserving family who could use a lot of emotional and financial support.

On December 23, 2016 on their first day visiting family in AZ.  Rose and her family fell on hard times when her father suffered a brain hemorrhage and was rushed to the ER for emergency brain surgery . Although the surgery was a success and saved her father’s life, it has  left him with significant brain damage and severe memory loss. He can longer be alone beacause he wonders off and has gotten lost and cannot always remember who he is or who his family is and needs to be taken care of around the clock.

Rose’s mom Margarita has taken care of him and has been his guardian angel but last week was taken ill. Last week a sink hole opened up in Roses dinning room from a pipe that had been slowly leaking water in the crawl space under their house . When the family was safely removed to a friends house, Rose went back to find that the leak had spread under the crawl space of her house, up into the livingroom and kitchen floors.  As it turns out her mother is dangerously allergic to mold and had been feeling ill for weeks but they had no idea why. Saturday morning her mom was rushed to the ER. She has suffered a mild heart attack and they are now awaiting surgery.

Unfortunately, the insurance company is not covering the sink hole, the black mold or the leak, as they say it is a pre -existing  issue. Their home is now uninhabitable.
Thanks to their friend, they have a place to stay for the week. However, Rose has to be at the hospital, take care of her dad who cannot be alone  and take care of all her single mommy duties and hold down a full time job. They do not have family close by and Rose is an only child, so she has no siblings to help with her parents.

I am asking for donations to help Rose and her family to pay for a caretaker to be with her dad while Rose goes to work and to the hospital to be with her mom. Her dad's Veterans health care benefits are not covering enough and his health insurance is making them run through hoops and she needs to pay out of pocket for now. I am using this page to spread the word to all who can help her get a small break in the financial stress of this hard time.

If you know Rose, and even if you do not...you should know this dear friend and her family would give you the very clothes off their back to help someone else in need. I know they would never ask anyone for help but I think you would agree- that a little help from a lot of people who care, can go a long way in this world.

Thank you very much for helping Rose and the Bomentre family and happy holidays.
