her cat Keyone, and her birds Nico and Cinny are all fine. Unfortunately the car is totalled.
I first met Rose through the UPEI Rainbow Alliance, the lgbtq+ group on campus. She has been an advocate for lgbtq+ rights, as well as mental health awareness. She is such a giving person and I know this financial set back could not have come at a worse time.
She is currently facing:
-Just over $400 in towing and car storage fees. She has CAA but as she does not speak French it was not made clear to her that the police were not impounding her vehicle and uhaul trailer, the tow driver towing them was not affiliated with the police.
-The cost to stay in Montreal with her fur family for several days to sort out a new mode of transportation (several hundred dollars)
-And the biggest expense, the cost to rent a UHaul, or a car that can tow a trailer, to get her the rest of the way to Calgary (She is looking into what is the cheapest option).
Since she was in PEI for school, she was not eligible for government assistance when she had to pause her studies. She has pushed through these past few months to be able to afford enough to move in with her grandmother and this accident has left her stranded less than halfway home.
