Roo was on CTV news!

Hi there!  I'm Roo!  I came from a shelter overseas to Vancouver, BC, Canada on Nov 28th 2018, and now live with the Horncastle family!

I was born with two strong back legs and two deformed front legs that don't have any paws on them.  I've taught myself how to balance, hop, sit like a person, catch stuff with my face and climb stairs!  I don't behave like I'm different from any other dog, but I know that there are a few things I can't do, like getting down from things, walking or running after my big brother Shine and all the other dogs in the park!  Did I mention I REALLY want to run?  I try, but it's hard with only two legs.  I ride around in a bike cart, but I want to jump out of it when I see everyone else running about.

To help me become more mobile, I'm going to get a new right front leg from Orthopets Vancouver!  Recently, I had surgery to remove a little bone at the end of my leg, so that the new leg will fit perfectly (thanks Gladys Pet Hospital)!   My family says it will turn me into a 'tripod' (sounds interesting), and it will allow me to learn how to run and play just like all the other young dogs out there! WOO!

If you decide to donate, your money will go to towards helping my new family with paying for my amputation/vet bills, and of course, MY SHINY NEW LEG!

Thank you, peoples!  I lick your face because I love you!!!!

Message from Julie:
Hey there!  This is Roo's mom!  We've been fostering this wonderful girl since November 2018, and are excited to make her a permanent member of our family.  She has quickly become a dog park/neighbourhood favourite, as well as a bit of an internet celebrity with her own instagram page!  Roo_corner

She has been through so much in her short life, but a happier dog, I have never met!  She greets people, cats, dogs and children with equal amounts of love, and has come through this recent amputation like a champ!

I know a donation is a big ask, so please don't feel obligated if it's not a good time.   Prayers, love and shares are a great way to help too!  And don't worry, I will keep updating the internets with all of Roo's adventures as we venture toward a totally new future for this amazing girl who sparks so much joy!

Lots of love (and puppy smiles),
The Horncastles and Roo

UPDATE!  Dustin Godfrey of the Abbotsford News has written an article about Roo!
