Mom of 2, Domestic Abuse, Car Wreck

Donation protected
Roni Mosco is a single mother of two (Payton and Parker) and a recent survivor of domestic violence. A few months ago she was strangled, shoved down a flight of stairs, and her life threatened. It was the worst in a series of recent attacks, and made her fear for her life and the lives of her children.

She filed a police report and pressed charges, and he went to jail. Then his mother - the owner of the property where she was living - kicked her out without eviction proceedings or notice. She was left with nothing. By the grace of God and a few good friends she was able to get in to a new place to call her own where her and her children could start working on their new life.

Unfortunately, things haven't been going so well since then. Roni works at a bar - as so many single mothers are forced to when trying to balancing raising children and working - and tips haven't been great. She works hard to make the money she needs, and harder still caring for her children and finding sitters to allow her to work without the ability to afford reliable child care.

To make matters worse, Tuesday Roni and her children were hit by a careless driver and her 21 year old Honda Civic was totaled. Now they have no car, and no money to get a new one. Based on its age, when they finally total out the car it will not even have enough residual value to pay off the $4300 in shop bills she accrued this past year to keep it running.

Roni's credit is a bit damaged from medical charge-offs, and she cannot afford a replacement car or obtain a loan without our help. She is currently relying on help from friends to get her children to and from school. I am creating this GoFundMe with the hopes that we can help this wonderful person and survivor of domestic abuse get back on her feet, and provide a wonderful life for her children.

Any funds raised will first be used to help her in to a replacement car. Any remaining funds will go towards paying down the debt she has accrued and will continue to accrue until a car can be obtained and she has healed enough to return to work where she is expected to be on her feet constantly, and crutches are not an option.

Even before the accident she was barely scraping by. The are living below the poverty line, and are relegated to eating hard boiled eggs and scrapple to keep from starving, and sitting on donated folding chairs because they can't afford furniture. Now, without a car it is only getting worse.

Despite all her hardship, Roni is an active churchgoer and volunteer where her time permits. On Thursday nights she gives back to her church by volunteering in the kitchen to cook for her bible study group. This past October alone she spent almost all of her free time volunteering at a Pumpkin Patch to raise money for her church and  the National Foundation for Transplants.

Please join me in helping Roni find her way back up and on her feet.
