Help Roland with Medical Expenses

Dear Family and Friends,
I started this GoFundMe page to help in the aid of my brother's Medical and Rehab expenses.
On the night of September 21st, our brother Roland was found collapsed and unconscious on a road by Santa Monica beach. Roland had sustained severe head trauma and was rushed to the hospital where he needed immediate surgery to help reduce the swelling of his brain caused by blood from the injury. In order to reduce the swelling, a part of Roland's skull was temporarily removed. The Doctors will reattach this area of the skull but estimate this may take 3 to 6 months before they can do so.
Roland had spent an entire week in ICU, unconscious and unable to communicate, a very frightening time for our family. He has since awoken but is still in the hospital. We are very thankful he is now conscious and showing signs of recovery and our next goal is to get him strong enough to be moved to a rehabilitation facility to begin the long process of physical therapy. Doctors estimate Roland's rehab could take 8 months to 1 year.
Roland has been skateboarding since we were kids in Hawaii. We moved to Venice during our pre-teens since then he's been skating with Jesse Martinez and a number of Venice skaters. He is also team rider for the Rogers Brothers downhill team. Roland particularly loves downhilling or "bombing" hills, and some may assume this injury was caused while skateboarding. However, that is not the case. Where Roland was found and the locations of his injuries lead us to believe Roland was possibly hit by a car or physically attacked by more than one assailant. Roland has no recollection of what happened to him that night and doctors say there is very little chance he will ever remember.
My brother Russell and I are asking for any amount of donation you can give to help in the aid of Roland's rehabilitation. We want to see our brother make a full recovery and return to the things he loves most; Family, skateboarding and living life to it's fullest.
